Minister Search Committee Apr 18, 2020
The last update from the Search Committee to the congregation was read during the service on Sunday, March 29. Later in the same week the update was distributed via e-mail and posted on our website.
As of April 16, we have received 27 Ministerial Profiles and have had first interviews with 7 candidates. At this time 4 candidates are scheduled for second interviews. A new profile arrived on April 16 and will be reviewed and measured against the criteria this week. 19 candidates are no longer under consideration.
The committee continues to meet three times a week to fulfill the tasks on hand and to conduct interviews with candidates via Zoom. Overall this platform is working very well for us.
It is with sadness that we report that Curt Mildner has left our committee. Abby Dubay-Troiano continues as Co-Chair and we are pleased to have Greg Scott step forward as our new Co-Chair. Whenever a small group becomes a team any loss is significant. We will miss Curt’s presence and expertise.
The global pandemic has impacted all of our lives. Thanks to the combination of talent and technology, it has not yet impacted our progress towards finding a settled minister. As Ministerial Profiles are received, we continue to review and rank them based on established criteria. All decisions related to the candidates continue to be reached by consensus and we have been able to conduct first and second interviews unimpeded.
We will continue to follow our communication schedule to update the congregation on Sunday every two weeks. The same message will be emailed to the full congregation and posted on our website as soon as possible that same week.
Thank you for your continued patience, prayers, and respect for confidentiality. We have once again included a prayer for those who would like to offer a daily “unison” prayer at this time of physical separation.
Almighty God, giver of all good gifts: Look on your Church with grace and guide the minds of those who shall choose a pastor for this congregation, that we may receive a faithful servant who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
May God comfort and give you peace at this time ~
